Agile methodologies in EDICOM and their advantages

Motivation, flexibility or growth are some of the advantages that agile methodologies provide.

José Luis Boronat is Head of the EDICOM Software Integration Department. Today he explains to us the advantages for each member of the team of working under agile methodologies.

“At EDICOM, we have been working with agile methodologies since 2015. With them, we are able to foresee changes and adapt to the different circumstances of each of the projects, at all times.

Within EDICOM we use different methodologies depending on the department. In R&D we use SCRUM; in Systems, KANBAN and SCRUM depending on the urgency of the tasks; and within the Project Implementation Area we use our own methodology, which we call ETM (Efficient Team Methodology). It consists of taking certain practices from PMP (Project Management Professional), without forgetting the best features of agile methodologies such as teamwork and flexibility, which enables us to solve any problem that may arise in a project.

The benefits that we obtain with these methodologies includes motivation of the teams, since they are self-managed. In addition, by working as a team we promote the transfer of knowledge among its members. And thanks to the roles established by these methodologies, we have an organization that allows us to offer a career plan within EDICOM”.
