Josep Enric Oliver is a Systems Operator at EDICOM. He tells us about his work in the Systems Area and what he likes most about his job, not forgetting the challenges he faces every day, as well as some details to get to know his team better.
EDICOM: What does a Systems Operator do in EDICOM?
JOSEP ENRIC OLIVER: A Systems Operator’s main job consists of monitoring and anticipating in order to solve any problems that may crop up in the entire infrastructure of the services provided by EDICOM. They also have to implement new solutions or enhancements.
E: What do you like most about your work?
J.E.O: What I like most about my job is seeing how technology helps companies to work better and more sustainably on a daily basis.
E: What are the challenges you have to face from day to day?
J.E.O: The challenges I face every day include the constant learning of new technologies such as Ceph, Kubernetes or Ansible, which are well rounded technologies and at the same time are leading in the sector.
E: Tell us an anecdote about your team.
J.E.O: In the department, day by day there is always a moment to make you smile. There’s a really good atmosphere; we’re practically like a family.
