Julián Piqueras is a Software Integrator. Since he joined EDICOM, his learning has been continuous, whether in languages or regulations of different countries when working with clients. Today we talked him to find out what he does, what he likes about his job, and the challenges and opportunities in the company, as well as the odd outstanding project or curiosity.

EDICOM: What do you do in EDICOM?

JULIÁN PIQUERAS: As a Software Integrator in EDICOM, my brief is to carry out the projects contracted by the clients, that is, we parameterize and configure the software and the services engaged to suit the client’s needs and requirements.

E: What do you like most about your work?

J.P.: What I like most about my job is taking a project from start to finish, because you get to know the clients and you create a bond.” You see the project come into being and through to fruition and the customers are always very grateful, because we provide such a good service.

E: What challenges arise in your work?

J.P.: The biggest challenge is about working in EDICOM is the amount of stuff we have to learn. We work with several countries and deal with a lot of different regulatory frameworks and different laws, and we need to keep up-to-date with all this to be able to provide the best service.

E: What opportunity has EDICOM provided you with?

J.P.: One of the opportunities about working here is the number of languages you can learn. Since I started in the company, I’ve been going to Italian classes and, well, I’m already somewhere around the B2 level, which allows me to improve a lot, obviously, in my work.

E: Any projects that you feel particularly proud of?

J.P.: In particular, I recall a project I worked on which was one of the first we carried out in Bolivia. It was a big challenge, because not many people knew the country or the regulatory framework, and I had to study from start to finish to be able to support the client.

E: Tell us some curiosity or anecdote about EDICOM.

J.P.: For me, one of the most curious things about EDICOM is the number of activities going on outside of work: paddle tennis tournaments, bowling competitions, e-sports tournaments, go-karting, dinners, lunches, and things like that. We do a lot of activities which, to tell the truth, help us to come together as a company.
