EDICOM holds virtual session with one of its teams in Technovation Girls 2020

The young women presented their proposal for a mobile application to resolve a social issue through technology. Technovation aims to motivate and promote girls’ ICT skills to improve gender equality in the technology sector.

On April 9th, EDICOM held a virtual presentation session with one of the two teams the firm sponsors in Technovation Girls 2020. Along with the Technical School of Computer Engineering (ETSINF) of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, the company is again collaborating with this initiative, which aims to motivate and promote girls’ ICT skills to improve gender equality in the technology sector.

During the session, the young women presented their proposal for a mobile application to resolve a social issue through technology. The group, mentored by an ETSINF student, demonstrated their talent and creativity, as well as courage and enthusiasm during the presentation. The EDICOM professionals taking part in the videoconference offered their guidance and feedback on the project.

Technovation Girls is the world’s largest technological entrepreneurship competition for girls. In fact, the event has already brought together more than 23,000 participants from over 100 different countries. Young women have the opportunity to enhance their abilities and discover the essential qualities for entrepreneurship and teamwork.

The competition challenges girls from 10 to 18 years old to develop a business plan and a mobile application to deal with a social problem, defend it and compete to reach the grand finale. The initiative gives girls from all over the world the chance to learn the necessary skills to become entrepreneurs and technology leaders.

This action is backed by others supported by EDICOM seeking the social improvement of our environment. Moreover, in this case advocating women’s role in technology. We wish them lots of luck and hope their projects can come to fruition.
